Schnauzers are an incredibly popular German dog breed, originally bred to be sheepherders, drovers, and ratters. As such, these uniquely mustachioed dogs are loyal, intelligent, full of energy, and come in a range of sizes from “Toy” to “Standard” to “Giant.” Fortunately, these long-lived dogs are relatively healthy; however, they are predisposed towards a few conditions, including kidney stones, central hypothyroidism, and pancreatitis.

As an owner, you can minimize or mitigate your Schnauzer’s health concerns by providing it with a healthy diet. Lucy Pet dog food is precisely formulated and contains all of the vital nutrients a dog needs to remain healthy and happy. A daily helping of Lucy Pet helps fortify bones, build muscles, strengthen the immune system, and fight off disease

Key Nutritional Considerations
For schnauzers

Allergies

Schnauzers can be allergic to certain types of foods, and Miniature Schnauzers are particularly predisposed to allergies in general.

Foods that you might want to avoid include: Beef, Pork, Corn, Eggs.

Digestion

Food allergies can cause digestive issues in Schnauzers that will continue unless you change what you’re feeding your pup.

Ideally, you want to feed your dog a food that includes prebiotics, which will aid the digestive process and minimize unpleasant reactions.

Skin Condition

It’s very common for dogs’ skin to contain staph bacteria, however, when their immune systems are not strong, they can develop an allergic reaction to the bacteria and cause your Schnauzer to have skin problems such as shedding, rashes, and patches of hair loss.

Happy Schnauzers

Using Lucy Pet for my Mini-schnauzer Enzo and it has been amazing. He had stomach issues with the canine caviar brand I fed him before and Lucy Pet has solved the problem and he loves it and eats it the second we put the bowl down.
